O2™
The O2™ is an upgraded version of our original airframe that includes optimized winglets and a landing skid as standard equipment. O2™ is a purpose built aircframe ideally suited as a video downlink platform/vertical photography vehicle or as an unmanned trainer. In the digital downlink role it's typically outfit with a fixed video system and can be fit with a fixed digital camera to take still images. Flight times are in excess of 1 hour and can be significantly extended depending on payload and battery selection.
Keeping with Hangar 18's design philosophy of designing utility UAVs, the O2's™ center fuselage is empty giving the end user ample room in the payload bay to install custom payloads.
In the trainer configuration the plane can be basically equipped with as little as an R/C aircraft up through full autopilot and data link integration based on customer requirement.
The original O2™ has been sucessfully deployed with the Sea Shepherd group and used in their effort to spot the Japanese whaling fleet in their efforts to save the whales.
Vertical photography is extremely versatile when combined with an AttoPilot flight system. AttoPilot provides complete control of your camera system and has full geotag capability to give precise GPS data for each photo.
